Broken or cracked mirror glass is a safety issue and a reason for a fine. Replacing the glass itself is much cheaper than replacing the entire mirror and in most cases can be done in minutes, without tools.

How to choose the right glass

Pay attention to four things: country (left - driver's, right - passenger), preheating (whether the mirror has a heater - there are two contacts on the glass), glass type (flat, convex or aspherical with a dividing line) and years of production, because on a model, the mirrors are often changed during a facelift.

Installation

In most cars, the old glass is removed by gently pressing on the top or bottom edge, and the new glass is pressed with the palm of your hand in the center until it clicks. For heated windows, remember to connect the two contacts. Use gloves if the old glass is broken.
