Castrol 5W30 is a synthetic low viscosity oil for modern petrol and diesel engines, including those with DPF filters and extended drain intervals. Castrol is a British brand with over 100 years of history in lubricants. The EDGE, MAGNATEC and GTX series cover the requirements of most European manufacturers.

The letter W indicates the oil's behavior in cold weather - 5W provides quick lubrication during winter starts, and 30 is the viscosity at operating temperature. Many 5W30 versions are Low SAPS (ACEA C2/C3) and protect the diesel particulate filter.
