Motul 5W30 is a synthetic low viscosity oil for modern gasoline and diesel engines, including those with DPF filters and extended drain intervals. Motul is a French manufacturer known for its involvement in motorsports. Motul 8100 and 6100 oils are among the most preferred for European cars.

The letter W indicates the oil's behavior in cold weather - 5W provides quick lubrication during winter starts, and 30 is the viscosity at operating temperature. Many 5W30 versions are Low SAPS (ACEA C2/C3) and protect the diesel particulate filter.
