Green antifreeze - engine protection in winter and summer
Antifreeze (coolant) keeps the engine from freezing in winter and from overheating in summer, and the additives in it protect the radiator, pump, and channels from corrosion and deposits.
Green antifreeze is the classic inorganic-based type (IAT/G11) used in older cars and in many models of Japanese and Korean brands.
Color is not a standard - specification is important
The color helps to guide you, but the car manufacturer's approval is crucial (e.g. VW TL 774, Ford WSS-M97B44 or Renault 41-01-001). Do not mix antifreezes with different technologies - this can form sediments and reduce protection.
Concentrate or ready-made antifreeze?
The concentrate is diluted with distilled water - usually 1:1 for protection down to about -37 °C. The finished antifreeze is poured directly and is convenient to top up. Check the level when the engine is cold.
