What does viscosity 15W-50 mean?
The designation 15W-50 is according to the SAE J300 classification. The number 15 before the letter W indicates how easily the oil flows in the cold. The lower it is, the faster the oil reaches all parts of the engine during a cold start. The number 50 describes the viscosity at an operating temperature of around 100 °C. The higher viscosity at operating temperature protects the engine under heavy loads, high revs and sporty driving.
