Advantages of CASTROL EDGE V 0W-20
The oil is made on a synthetic base, which provides a stable oil film at high temperatures and quick lubrication during cold starts. Thus, the engine is protected in the first seconds after ignition, when wear is greatest. The oil keeps the parts clean and limits the formation of deposits and sludge. The formula is tailored to hybrid drives, where the engine often stops and starts again and operates at lower temperatures. Meets the requirements of ACEA C5. The low content of sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulfur protects the catalyst and particulate filter. It has Ford approvals, listed in the table above.
What does viscosity 0W-20 mean?
The designation 0W-20 is according to the SAE J300 classification. The number 0 before the letter W indicates how easily the oil flows when cold. The lower it is, the faster the oil reaches all parts of the engine during a cold start. The number 20 describes the viscosity at an operating temperature of around 100 °C. Low viscosity reduces friction and fuel consumption. Therefore, it is required by many modern gasoline and hybrid engines.
Useful tips for choosing and replacing
Before purchasing, check the operating manual for the required viscosity and manufacturer approval. The 1 liter package is convenient for topping up between two oil changes. Change the oil together with the oil filter and follow the recommended interval.
